Paul, however, has the impudence to rebuke and curse the high priest. He says, "God shall strike you, you whitewashed wall! " [Acts 23:3]. What could be more audacious than this behavior toward the most influential judge in the high council? And yet, although he was called to account for it, he was left unpunished.
